ACC Accreditation
ACC has specified particular Designated Audit Agencies to audit physiotherapy practices seeking accreditation under the Endorsed Provider Network www.acc.co.nz. EQS has formed a partnership with BVQi who is able to issue certificates under the scheme. The arrangement we call the Power 2. This is because we believe this partnership provides a better ouertification body.

If you are considering EPN Certification or Re-certification you also have a choice, of which standards you can be accredited under. Until recently if you were seeking accreditation under the EPN then you could only be assessed under the NZPAS standards.
However, with the new standards for Allied Health Standards NZS 8171:2005 planned for widespread introduction in 2007, ACC have accepted that Physiotherapists can choose to be audited against the new standards before then. The AHS standards have been developed with the future in mind and to this end Standards New Zealand have developed electronic handbooks, which help practices understand the new standards and work toward accreditation www.standards.co.nz ; also supporting the new standards are organizations providing electronic interactive documentation such as ebizdocz. www.ebizdocz.com. We have no affiliation with any of these companies but are aware of their products and how they can assist the busy practice to make the process easier.
